Comment Policy

Everyone has the opportunity, anonymously or not, to comment UOH online resources. The purpose of comments is to enable users to engage enriching discussions from the resources published on this site. We chose to moderate comments afterwards to liven up discussions. That means any comments are immediately apparent to every user. It involves users have to respect some rules and behaviors.

Our advice to use and moderation principles:

Our threads of comments are places of discussions and exchanges. Users have to remain polite and respectful of others and use a decent language. To maintain a respectful dialogue, contributors are invited to respect the following conventions:

  • Stay focused to keep comments on topic: any comment that appears to be off-topic will be deleted.
  • Be respectful. Ad hominem or personal attacks, profanity, and aggressive behavior are prohibited. Instigating arguments in a disrespectful way is also prohibited. We reserve the right to edit out anything offensive.
  • Don't use copy/paste argumentations: respect the discussion as well as the reader. Only your point of view matters.
  • Write the title carefully: it will draw the attention on your comment
  • Be sure you will be well understood. Write the contributor's name (@...) you are answering to or quote the original text.
  • Don't shout. Don't use capital letters
  • Don't forget: as in any public virtual place of discussion, comments are opened to all.
  • Personal attacks on the authors or other commentators will result in an immediate ban. Same as spreading gossips.
  • Always check your information sources to avoid the misinformation. In case of doubt, some specialized website as can help you to locate hoaxes.
  • No spam. Repeated posting of identical or very similar content is prohibited. This includes comments aggressively promoting services or products.
  • External linking: external links are ok, if they are relevant to the original post
  • Don't debate with a troll. Don't waste your time! A « troll » is someone who persists in launching discussions about topics which irritate or scatter around confusion between participants
