They were the final outcomes of the European Lifelong learning\nproject REC:all which run from 2010-2013. The guides are now being officially\npublished by the Media &amp; Learning Association which took the initiative to\nexploit the project activities. A SIG Lecture Capture and Video Use in Higher\nEducation was created, the main activities are the organisation of regular\nwebinars and a pre-conference workshop on Video in Higher Education before the\nMedia &amp; Learning Conference in Brussels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Pedagogy guide (<em>authors: Clive Young, UCL, UK\n     and Sylvia Moes, VU University Amsterdam, Netherlands)<\/em><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This guide gives you an introduction to the phenomenon\nof lecture capture, the impact it can have, student and teacher attitudes\ntowards this technology in past years, and it also discusses questions like\n\u00ab\u00a0What is the effect on attendance of students and on the lecture\nitself?\u00a0\u00bb. The guide explains more about the active learning model and goes\ndeeper into other pedagogical models that can be used in a lecture capture or\nblended learning setting. Another chapter is dedicated to the case studies as\nan outcome of the REC:all project, they can be useful for anyone looking for\ngood examples of lecture capture use and\/ or flipped learning. In the last part\nthe RECall framework is presented which can help you to better understand the\nlearning design and pedagogical choices made in each case study.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/uoh.fr\/front\/documents\/pdf\/how_to_move_beyond_lecture_capture_pedagogy_guide.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Pedagogy\nguide (EN)<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Technology\n     guide<em>(authors:\n     Mathy Vanbuel, ATiT, Belgium)<\/em><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This guide provides information on the current\nstate-of-the-art and types of lecture capture, it goes deeper into several\nfunctionalities (eg. interactivity, voice recognition, subtitling, social\nmark-up, automated indexing and metadata, integration with VLE platforms etc.).\nThe guide also includes a chapter on technical trends and developments as well\nas a part about common fears. Last but not least it gives an overview of\nsuppliers active in the lecture capture market and a matrix which can help you\nto make a comparison between lecture capture&nbsp;systems and services and its\nfunctionalities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/uoh.fr\/front\/documents\/pdf\/how_to_move_beyond_lecture_capture_technology_guide.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Technology\nguide (EN)<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Legal guide <em>(authors:\n     G\u00e9rard Casanova, Yacine Abboud &amp; Joy Peynet (Universit\u00e9 de Lorraine,\n     France)<\/em>&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This guide gives more background information on\ncopyright in general and as the details of these laws are different in each\ncountry you can find some more information on the situation in the UK, France\nand the Netherlands as examples. Further on the guide describes \u00ab\u00a0the\ngeneral rules\u00a0\u00bb for using copyrighted material in <em>web lectures<\/em> specifically. The guide includes\ninformation on Open Educational Resources and Creative Common Licences and also\ndiscusses what to take into consideration when (re)using your own material or\nstudent material. Another chapter is dedicated to \u00ab\u00a0the right to a person\u2019s\nimage\u00a0\u00bb and another chapter focuses on \u00ab\u00a0publicly broadcast materials\nor commercially produced materials\u00a0\u00bb and how you can or cannot use them in\nyour classroom. Finally the guide describes what you should consider when you\nwant to protect resources that you have created and gives you some other useful\ntips when making podcasts or recording lectures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/uoh.fr\/front\/documents\/pdf\/comment_aller_au-dela_de_la_capitation_de_cours_guide_juridique.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Guide\njuridique (FR)<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/uoh.fr\/front\/documents\/pdf\/how_to_move_beyond_lecture_capture_legal_guide.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Legal\nguide (EN)<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>REC:all researched how lectures are currently being\ncaptured and used, exploring learning designs for flexible and off-campus\ndelivery, reviewing technical, pedagogical and legal issues with an aim to\nproducing practical guidelines such as this one to help teachers.
